Update:
Go out to Best Buy and buy a physical copy of Witcher 2 in a blind rage (That's $100 now for those not keeping score. I now own a physical and a steam copy.)

So much for waiting for Witcher 2 to go on sale -_- I'm also very disappointed in the CE. At least for the original game I got a nifty coin for my troubles.

(Sounds like you need ot have "old backup games" on your system, like I do - when things aren't workign right or nothign else is looking good - I just boot up older games I never got rid of like Oblivion or some other RPG endless game lol).
