    Default "The Xanthia Bug"

Figured we may get more attention to this issue if we name it and show precice examples. So for the future, any issues relating to this should be put here

Im calling it the Xanthia Bug simply because Xanthia seems to be the most articulate of what happens.

Long Story short, this is the steps a normal mob takes.
    ---
You come across a mob. it is walking around in a set area. You attack.

The mob chains to you, similar to an /autofollow command.

The mob will follow you until you are dead or you lose aggro.

Mob goes back to where he was and wanders again.
    ---

So what is the bug? Some mobs have lost their walking around routines. Perhaps an accidental deletion, perhaps on purpose to make it easier to find those really annoying boss mobs... either way, this is how THOSE mobs react.

    ---
You come across a mob. It stays in one place, no matter how long you watch it. You attack.

The mob chains to you, similar to a /autofollow (would stress now this is a NORMAL thing to happen)

The mob will follow you until you are dead or you lose aggro.

Mob.... wait mob doesnt go back to where he belongs. if he killed you, you can find him back in this exact spot. If you lost aggro.. wait a bit, the mob is still /autofollowing you. And if you attack it again.. it runs.

Xanthia has surmised that it does this because the mob lost its "wander in this area" code, so it is staying where it spawns. When it loses aggro, since it has not that code, it does the last code it has availiable, which is the /autofollow.

So here is the fun part.. Post any and all screen shots you got of mobs in strange places! feel free to move them there if you know how for really good pictures. Oh and kill them afterwards please. its the only way the system will force them to respawn!

Here is mine: "Farmer" Idamon apparently has given up on chickens to feed the world.. not enough legs.. now he is breeding Jungler Crawlers!

You can get anything you want in life -- just make a lot of noise and bite the right people.
