But... dragons aren't real... We don't really have much in nature of this size to prove this with!!! So it's silly

It's fun to speculate though, and when something doesn't look realistic it doesn't help at all to say "well it's not real". Considering your effort to explain "flapping forward", I might be preaching to the choir, but I still feel a need to say what I said to readers of this thread in general.
