Breath of lightning question

I've looked around and haven't hit an answer yet so-

When you take the Breath of Lightning quest- is Kelakhan actually supposed to give you a container in your inventory to fill from those thunder & lightning blights or is that a text notation only and you just have to keep killing them until the quest updates/a loot item drops to represent the filled container?
