    Default Talk to the Team: The Rift and Loot

    Wanted to fish for ideas from the player-base regarding types of loot you might like to see from monsters in the Rift. Its a great adventure area and we'd like the monsters there to have loot that isn't obtained from ones outside (similar to how loot in Dralnok's Doom is different).

    Most of the loot in DD is lore-related (dwarven journals, dragon journals, etc). What ideas do you all have for The Rift?

    Might be sort of nice to have a dragon artifact set to craft, sort of like the dwarven artifact one found in doom.

    I don't know maybe the artifact set could have things to do with the sleeper and ancient dragon society from way back with the lore centering around that? I'm certain, but I could be wrong since my memory isn't the greatest, that somewhere along the way there was some lore stating that dragons gathered in large numbers around the sleeper at one point.

    I suppose something like a rare or ancient hoard set to craft since, I can kind of imagine dragons having left bits of hoard at the sleeper sort of like a donation or tithe to the sleeper itself?

    The problem is Terao, is that the Rift is and has always only been a dragon only place in game. There is no way according to the lore that they should change that.

    But hey, I'm not adverse to a biped only place being added someday!

    I think it would be awesome if you had some more emblem quests, like Rift Seeker, Rift Guide. The Sleeper's Apprentice. or like Rift Kwellen Slayer (just like the myloc quests to kill x of them for an emblem)
    for doing a few quests from the sleeper discovering more about her / lore stuff. Or by traveling to various locations in the rift and having a quest update.
    As for loot, I think it would be neat if they had a chance to drop expert tiered formulas for dragons. Or maybe they could drop techs for new dye colors.
    I know a lot of that is repeat from the doom but I love the rift, I would love to see it used more.

    My first thought is a unique tech drop reflecting what was killed. For example, killing the heart golem (it is different parts like that, isn't it?) might drop a tail spike that allows you to drain life over time from an enemy you hit with tail whip. Perhaps a different tail spike from each golem?

    Alternatively, perhaps crystals with multiple facets - similar to what crystalshapers will be able to make, but with multiple effects on them. For example, use the heart one and gain both extra life and extra armor for the duration.

    Perhaps more useful would be dragon abilities which could be hotkeyed, much as mastered or racial abilities for bipeds can be hotkeyed. I do not know what abilities dragons lack that bipeds may have, but it seems like a 30 second alacrity boost like gnomes get would be a really cool ability for high level dragons helping in the rift to have a chance to win. Alternatively, group buff abilities like protection from nature might be neat.

    I'd love to have a reason to use blighted equipment :) In terms of loot I think we have more than enough tech's , jewelry, armor, and weapon pieces but there are weapons which there are no special types. Such as we have 7 demon weapons each being a certain weapon, but I haven't seen say a shillelagh, wooden club, or even a 1 handed sword yet. Those would be nice I think:)

    How about some t6 broken claw bits for dragons to make?
