So, guess it's time...Morinare will be starting his Ancient Rite of Passage today, and, being a traditionalist who knows that the Rites are as much about community as they are passing to a new stage, will be happy to welcome along any Dragons or Bipeds who would like to participate, help, advise, or merely stand on the sidelines, point, and laugh.

Huge thanks to all of those, awake and sadly asleep, who have helped Morinare get to this point...I'd leave someone out if I tried to name you all, but, it does seem like I've been touched by almost every Dragon on Order, along with many of the Bipeds....so, thank you all!

A special thanks to the members of my Guild, Scions...you guys are da best!!

Now, to wake Mori and get him flapping to the Historian!

Thanks...hopefully, if/when I ascend, someone will take some pictures...if it's anything like the ascension to adult, I'll be too busy and too awe-struck by it all to do much picture-taking!

An ARoP question (I'll ask this in-game, as well, although I've noticed that Dragon Channel has almost become a wasteland, with very little conversation or chatter going on... )....I'm at the point where Lantenal is sending me out to kill specific things, based on riddle-clues...the first, flame-based one was easy...the second, wind-based one is proving more difficult. I thought he was referring to wind golems, and killed the named one (Galestorm, I think it was), but, got no special drop and it didn't tick the Quest log, so, obviously, that wasn't the right critter....is there another named Wind Golem/Elemental/Something-or-other running around? I thought of the Tempest Golems, but, can't find a named one....

This dragon doesn't mind hints, help, advice, suggestions (as long as they're physically possible and not *too* rude), or being dragged by the tail and having my muzzle shoved into a target (although, I'd ask for time to cast a buff or two during that last one).

That's the one that has me a bit stumped...as I said, my immediate reaction was either the wind or tempest golems...killed the only named wind golem I could find (Galestorm), with no reaction from my quest log, and can't even find a named tempest golem....then, someone told me I was looking for "Monsoon," who lives in the grassy area on Drakul...looked all over, and found oodles of wisps, but nothing else...I'll keep a-lookin'!

Ditto what Agua said. I won't even pretend I can remember the name, but for more of a hint, the sky goes stormy and there's crackling/booming pygmies and ogres wandering about somewhere past Morning's Light... I want to say to the west.

At least, back when I did it. And that was recently enough that it might not have been changed yet, right? Oh wait. </I seem to have misplaced a few years has someone seen them>


As much of a sleepyhead/narcoleptic as Thickle is, I can be reached via PMs if you want someone to tag along and help scout mobs and/or flail at things until they die. And you better give all of us plenty of warning before your ascension, I demand to be there!

hmmmm.....well, now, I know that area, and seem to recall being chased all over the place by a big nasty...I'll have to do some more exploring...

Thanks for the offers of help, as well...I'll no doubt be taking up some of those offers!

And, Thicklesip, no worries: I've already hired a press-agent with the Bristugo Blather to publicize my ascension, if/when it occurs....I've also contracted several Dwarven brewers to provide libation at the event....

Found him....and, what a nasty he is....Storm Ogre with two Than'kuk Warrior 'escorts' that never - and, I mean *never* - leave his side....attack any one of 'em, and all three come at ya, like they're tied at the hips...thanks to a couple of Guild-Mates, though, got the goodies (even if it killed me...lol)

As I've had a number of folks tell me that they wish to be at my hoped-for ascension to Ancient (including several who have *demanded* that I let 'em know when that even occurs....lol), here's a bit of an update.

Since I'm not in-game right now, don't know exactly which step I'm on, but, I've finished the Spell of Pathfinding and have just started re-acquainting myself with that lovely and oh-so-friendly Fiend, Akhanis...if he wasn't necessary to my ARoP, he'd have been shredded by now....

Have no clue how far along in the Rite I am, since I really have no idea when (or, even, if) this quest-line ends...knowing that there *are* Ancients, and, that some of my friends have recently *become* Ancients, I know that there IS an end....lol.....but, it's certainly not in obvious sight. And, since I'm trying to work on my lair while doing the ARoP (and, all the other things I love doing in-game), who knows *when* I'll get to the actual ascension....

Again, huge thank-you's to those who've helped along the way, including those in Dragon and Market Channels who've simply made me laugh....

Hoping to get my Negadragoon started on ARoP soon too. only got 25 more levels, and ability quests to do XD
Hardest part for me is lack of playable time due to work :P
Only get about an hour or two per day to play, not much time considering most quests for abilities alone take up a good 1/2 hour to complete. :P
But I`ll get there. Hopeing for a 3 to 5 dragon ancient ascention. if you`d be interested in joining (and waiting for a few to catch up XD)

Dunno if I'll need to "wait," to be honest...I've entered the Rift, spoken to the Sleeper and been given my tasks...and, I've been advised that I should bring along several friends when I'm ready to tackle those tasks (assume they'd need be Ancients?)....might be a while before I can do that....

I'll definitely be more than happy for Reagle to come along on any Rift runs...bring friends....bring LOTS of friends....lol....I'll bring the Dwarven Ale (and, lots of bandages).

I shall bow to the superior knowledge of my elders in this, as I know not what a good-sized party (i.e., one that'll be successful! ) might be...if the Wiki is accurate, the Guardians don't sound too easy!

I'm usually in-game during my daytime (8 or 9am, East Coast US time, 'til about 3-4pm)....with planning, I can be on in the evening (7pm or so), as well. So, whatever works best for whoever would like to come along...lol....

The correct Rift run party size is "as many dragons as you can stick in a single party, plus maybe one or two more if there's a lot of volunteers." I don't remember the minimum number I've heard people get away with, I tend to only get roped into them when there's the better part of a dozen other people going.

For the most part 5-6 dragons total, meaning 4-5 other ancients plus the dragon undergoing the rite seem to be standard for the final boss of the rift.

for the lesser guardians in the rift, two well equipped ancient and the adult undergoing the rite is possible, but difficult, judging from my own experiences.

but anyway, Good luck with your ascension Morinare! I'd be there and offer another set of talons to assist you if it werent for the fact im a chaos based draggy

lol, Thicklesip, I love your definition...and, I'm trying to picture a dozen or so Ancients galumphing along those narrow "paths" in the Rift........Thanks for the words of encouragement, Bahkar....

I'm gonna try for this Friday, 17 August...figure about mid-morning, my time (East Coast, US)...see if there are any Ancients up and about...if that doesn't work, then, I'll try again that evening (again, using my time-zone, as I have enough trouble figuring out what time it is here...lol)....

So, if any would like to come along (and, I'd love to shoot for Thicklesip's mega-party!), those are the two tentative times, this week....lol...
