Do We Need Red Walls In Order?

I would like to see a show of support/dissent for red walling plots at this exciting time of building. Do you agree that constriction of passage is worth privacy of construction? Would you like to see plots open for traversing but buildings not accessable?


What are your views on this matter?

I find red walls beyond obnoxious. Beyond that, I don't see any real game reason for them. I mean, if you want people out, you build a wall. But instaed, we have this mystical invisi-box that encompasses a plot. Besides being obnoxious, it makes no sense.

If you're able to set all of your machines and structures to different levels of privacy, I don't see why people would really have a problem with someone else just using the land on their way to their plot.

If you're in the midst of some major construction and the direct line from the arrival point to your plot is blocked, the little bit of time can add up.

While this won't be an issue for me, I'd ask that most people turn off the red walls at least for a month or so until the major construction is complete to allow everyone as easy access to their plots as possible.

Pre-merger I died backing into a red-wall plot trying to get away from a mob 15 lvls higher than myself ... I think ona RP server total denial of access (ESPECIALLY TO AN EMPTY PLOT ANYWAY!!) could be removed. I agree with retaining the choice to deny access of use of shops, machines and NPCs ... just not the full "red-wall" treatment.

I dislike red walls...

But I consider them a nesecarry Privacy need until they institue a few things...

Doors...Locks... Walls with Gates...

Emotes and Talking not going beyond someone inside a house...

After that... No more need for them in the least. :)

And I can assure you that Amon will not have red walls (At least, after we get the guildhouse done and can make certain of that) They are detrimental and really have no purpose, since we can already 'lock' silos

i think instead of red walls, there should be a quest in which we can gain the ability to set traps, so when gnomebert like Frons come by, he'll get a quick DP.

and catapults to deal with dragons.

The plot for Eye of Istaria Guild in Selen will not have red walls. My opnion is red walls should not be used.

(If any suggestions for what to build on my commerical plot - please let me know! The plot has a riverside and bridge view!)
