Wizard Hat

If you dye the wizard hat, and have say 2 of them, each dyed, because they will stack when you unequip one, you lose the dye when unstacking it.

Can these be made to not be stackable?

It is perhaps of interest to note that of all the hats from the NPC at Bristugo, only the Wizard's Hat can be dyed.

They can not be made unstackable and still sold on a vendor, no. In order to be placed on a vendor, items must be stackable.

Have the vendor sell a stackable "Hat Box" which is a useable item.

You "Open" the box, which then gives you the hat as loot.

The Hat itself can be made unstackable.

While I was fiddling with this to examine the issue, the game ate like 3 dye kits. *shakes fist*

This tech is in game, the Present boxes worked this way. So I know this can be fixed.

This does not make sense to me, as tools, armor pieces, etc. are not stackable and yet can be placed on a vendor. What am I missing?
Edit: Never mind, I just realized you meant for an NPC vendor to sell to players, not a consigner.
