Download is an issue, the security hole of IRC is another to consider.

But for me I cannot sit in that chat windows 24 hours x 7 days, so that I am there when the news get passed over. I need to be able to get that news, when I do have time to sit and read.

Plus in theirc ... I have sat there a few time. Have you noticed that half (if not 3 quaters)of what is there is outside gametopics and/or bragging and/or whinnings.

No IRC ... is and should be a on the spot help tools & crisis center.

I too have logged into the IRC channel ... a number of times, and NOT ONCE has anything on that chat channel been anything more than off topic ... I think a regular forum post is necessary especially as this is the "official" "community forum"

The only way id accept having to use IRC to find out about new things about HZ is if there were official people who were in there 24/7 between them and posted on the OFFICIAL forums ANYTHING that would be useful/intersting to know.

But thats not gonna happen any time soon, the main problem with IRC is as stated above, you cant possibly be in there ALL the time to find out everything and its highly likely you'll miss something when its ssaid due to not being logged in, unless you left yourself idle in there 24/7 and read all the logs.....no thanks = D

IRC is a nice place to talk to the devs about problems and get a prompt reply.

However these forums are AE's forums and It would be much appreciated if they posted a status update every now and then for those that can't or don't use IRC.

The problem with posting it to a forum is they have to take more care with it than they do on IRC and that means it takes a bit longer.

Anything they post can and will be twisted and contorted by someone on the forums.

your point is what exactly ?? everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it doesn't agree with the HZ is shangrila and AE is buddah belief.

This issue has already been addressed by someone at AE. Some will be ok with the excuse given and some will not.

The world still turns.
