Fafnir the Defiler's Scorch (Blight Pulse) Attack Damage and Useage Messy

I was fighting Fafnir the Defiler. He used his scorch or blight pulse attack but there seems to be two types. First, one is that a pulse of blight releases without warning with no hint or glowing arms to indicate it is coming. The Second Attack is one when he is glowing his arms and then releases a pulse of blight. They both have big cool downs. Both attacks normal will do 3000-4000 blight damage I estimate but I seen can do up to about 5500 blight damage. I heard its supposed do like 1000-2000. Seems like Fafnir the Defiler may be a little bugged.

Not sure about the first attack you mention. But I recall the swamp wraiths, and the old blight spectre's had some blight aoe, it might be the same thing. But that sounds like about the same damage those other mobs do with their blight attacks.

The scorch (glowing arms) used to hit for 40k minimum damage... you had about 6 seconds warning. He was not soloable then (well, not without dying in the effort). Sounds like it is a much much easier fight these days.

That's interesting the first attack doesn't even show glowing arms and releases a pulse of blight. The second one is one you mentioned. There could be a bug or maybe an extra attack assigned to him.

That sounds like the Mind Over Body buff he uses. I stood beside him, not even attacking him, nor was he attacking me. I did kill off one of his adds though before this happened (without aggro'ing him). So not 100% sure if that was a response to that. I'll follow him for a bit and see if/when he does it again.

This damage was simply by standing beside them, when he cast it.

Edit: Hmm, those two abilities are for Dodge and Regenerating Heal. Shouldn't be doing damage. Not sure if that was in response to killing his add. I'll play with him for a bit and see if I can figure what that attack was from.

Here's a 8m battle to get an idea. I don't really notice anything odd sticking out. I'll have to check out the lookup file to make sure Scorch is listed. But whenever you see an entry that says:

"Fafnir The Defiler cast ." I'm pretty sure this is when he cast Scorch.
