The NPC's are looking a little blue lately.

So, I went into Delgarath today and happened upon this...



At first I thought that being in the same building for so long, Doc Tarrant and Finagle had decided to see what it was like to be a gnome and a fiend respectively, and at least temporarily I hope.

Then I went outside and was shocked by this...



Delgarath has either been invaded by smurfs, or the NPC's all over Istaria are holding their breath for the changes that are coming.

In any case can you please tell them that everything will be alright and its ok to breathe?

All the rest of the bipeds seem to have traded colors with the fiends... Even a large collection of dragon npc have XD

I had a hunch and tested this. I normally play with the 'Enable Object Fading' unticked in Options, Video since it causes issues with textures sometimes. Similar to the gold and adamantium golems being black (http://community.istaria.com/forum/s...03-Gold-Golems) when its enabled.

I just enabled it and now see the blue npc's. Untick it and they return to normal. Well, that's the temp fix. You won't need to restart game after you untick that, just move out of range of the npc's until they disappear. When you go back, they should be normal.

Hopefully tech will be able to look into this soon.

Hmm.. I normally play with it unchecked as well.. and it seems to change nothing either way.

Oh well... perhaps the oxygen level of Istaria needs to be checked, the NPC appear to be suffocating XD

Hmm, yes, you're right. I had relogged after I enabled that option. Since it was blue, then I just ran down the road a little, then disabled it, then ran back. Since it fixed it, assumed that was it.

I see now it will be blue after a relog regardless of that setting.

Heres what I'm seeing. If I start the game up, while sitting in Delgarath, they are blue when I log in. If I run down the road a little bit, until they disappear and go back they are normal. If I teleport away and teleport back they are still normal. The only way I can make them blue is when I start the client up. Do they remain blue if you run down the road and back?

Yes they do indeed. I ported around, lost connection several times (so had to relog), even went out of town as far as the travertine and back, and they still remained blue. Its not just in Delgarath either but it seems to be happening to NPC's world wide.

I even tried /purgetex to no avail.

What did temporarily fix it was to clear the world cache.

When I did clear the world cache, I then ported around, and recalled back to Delgarath to find the dragon Onyndriss was blue, but the bipeds were alright. I turned to go to the portal and got a crash in the process, relogged and found everybody is blue again.

I'm going to get some logs, reproduce it, and send them in. Maybe it will help.

The NPCs are definitely blue but it can be random. Sometimes they are orange or even green. It changes each time I visit one, The Fiends in Kira. have lost their color also, almost look human now. Any way please see what happened about 2 updates ago. Thank you. Slimey on Order Shard

In case anyone missed patch notes, today Client 387.31 hit both Blight and Live shards at same time. This should fix the blue npc issue. If you are still seeing blue, please advise.
