But maybe possible to add a taming skill? I figure it wouldn't be an easy task. but taming your own golem / dire wolf or something to help fight would be great to have.

That could be really fun... As you increase in Taming skill, could earn fiercer pets with more carrying capacity. :-)

There's a post somewhere in the archives about Taming and how Istaria was never coded to have it, or could never be coded to incorporate it. What we have now with pets was a result of over 10 years of people pecking the Devs heads about pets.

If the tamer class was designed with class quests that awarded the special pets, it could work.

Maybe the pet wouldn't have any skills or buff, but just you could have any pet of your choice, would be awesome!
