ive just got the burning embers crystal and want to know how i use it in a scale

First, you need to get a chest or foreleg scale teched with the armor socketing tech. Once you have that, right click on the scale and choose the "configure crystals" option. You will then be able to put your crystal into the socket. :)

Socketed scale jewelry is very nice and adds flexibility for current and future crystals . . . There are very nice level 45, 55, 65 crystals out there and at level 50 you can really benefit from them (soon will at 55).

Had you had socketed scales when younger, the Darkstaff crystals could really have aided you.
