A dragon solo tanks a anchor

Woot a few days ago just me and one lvl 50 healer we took on an anchor by are selves and lived to tell the story [:D]

...I did a 80 Anchor alone in Dralk some time ago - lured the spectres away first, and then grinded down the anchor. Luckily he didn't spawn any more adds...

I think you need to learn what "Solo" means =)

I never said "Solo" I said "Solo tanked" that means I was the only one giving it damage.

I soloed a Veteran (L100) Anchor that was blighting the Yew. I used Imp Prime Bolt on it for about an hour and change, and it finally fell.

They aren't necessarily that tough; it's just the mobs they spawn while you are attacking.

same with the lvl 80 anchor i tanked/primal bolt for about 30 min at lvl 100

Soloing the anchor is easy. Avoiding the mob spawns is the tough part. Attacking the anchor only aggros Blight Spectres, and only those there guarding the anchor itself. As long as you don't AoE the anchor and aggro undead that are spawning around it, you can sit at range and prime bolt it to death. A L100 Dragon Adventurer can kill the blight spectres en masse.

FYI im lunis I used my claws to fight it, didn't use prime bolt as a method to defeat it

Some of the blight spectres (sacrificers) have a suicide attack that can instakill a level 100 dragon. Not easy to take a group of 8 of them en mass. However, once you kill the spectres the anchor itself is not hard. Expect to take a couple hours if using nothing but prime bolt though.

Hmm, I have taken those "suicide" attacks and survived.

Only took me 1 hour to kill a Vet Blight Anchor with IPB.

Actually 1 hour might work as well.

What I do if I successfully manage to kill the wisp defenders without dying is to engage the anchor in melee while my refreshing breeze is up. When breeze goes down, I'll continue to engage using quickening breeze until my health gets too low. At that point I withdraw to a safe distance and hit it with improved prime bolts and blast/tempest. Once health is recovered, move back into melee range and repeat.

I haven't timed it exactly, but I estimate it takes about 20 minutes to kill a level 100 anchor this way if you use gold rage. If you have a biped healing you, you can stay within melee range the entire time and take it out in less than 10 minutes. Eats tons of hoard though.

Took a group of 3 Dragons and 8-9 bipeds 2 hours to finally take down that sucker.

That'll work on the stationary anchors. Ever try to primebolt one to death that followed you around? Not fun :P

Yup. I have been literally chased by one at mithril field. I would blast, until it spawned spectres, then I'd step back and... it happily chased me.
