The WM run event on Chaos today... what are YOUR feelings?

How was it for you? I have heard some had a blast!, others could not move.

Me? I had 2-3 FPS, was easily able to handle the mobs, but lag kept me from being able to heal, so it was just laggy DP's for no real reason than to have mobs to fight.

I hope you had fun.

I really wish that they could come into town, kill all the NPC's and make the town not reset NPC's till the next reboot. Then we would have a real reason to participate.

Pretty laggy for me as well. But I don't want them in town until the reboot. I want them to destroy the town and force us to rebuild it.

It was a blast.
A much needed break from the grind, the boredom, the staticness of the game.
Managed to get 12-13 fps throughout, not perfect, still room for improvement, but better than last Aug invasion.

Also further proof that Amon is the greatest WM ever.

My feelings are the we un Unity woud really need something like that.

We even got the crap of merging shards plus the crap of not getting the world end event.

It would be about time to correct the trend - and would slow down the bloody hemmoragy of players in EU jumping on the Wow bandwagon.

I ran 8.5-15 FPS throughout the battle, as PJ said not bad but room for improvment :)

Although I did crash going into aug the first time and so I was in with a fresh load hehe.

It was definately a nice change of pace would like to see more like this. Perhaps further away from a town or buildings to see how peoples FPS holds up away from constuction sites.

I'm not on Chaos, and working full-timemost often miss or would miss such events-- but I want to say "thank you" to Amon (and any/all other Horizons staff involved.)

The event was pretty spontaneous i believe. Wasn't planned to be when people were at work, just happened to be then that the idea struck them, repeatedly.

Woulda been nice to fight n die, instada go in and LAG death,.......the lag is just too bad,....toons that soulda easily taken out some of these things died almost instantly..........

I didn't quite make it. Logged in later than usual. Switched back to Pally in order to have a chance against the mobs. Ported to Falathien to get my cobalt scale from house. (I had been working on my Druid school for the last week.)

Too late. Mobs all dead.

To turn it back on though, you need to edit the combatspelleffects line in your graphics file in the prefs folder.

Dont know about you I ran fine and i have a ati card

if you read my FPS in lower right coner I was running 15 during actacks and 20 when no acctacks but lots of poeple

The best thing about todays event is the attitude it brings to the server. They brought a purpose. You weren't just killing mobs to push your exp bar up a little bit. You weren't killing for drops or for money. You weren't killing cause the mobs were interferring with your gathering. You were killing to protect the cities. These mobs weren't going away on their own. It brings out the best in people. 5+ different groups 50+ people at times killing the mobs together. No "Quit KS'ing" or "Stop Griefing Me" just getting the job done. The servers had really sort of lost that feeling lately.

Yes, but that doesn't seem to work for me. I type /setpref combatspelleffects = true to turn them back on and they stay off. To turn them on I have to manually turn them back on the the correct file.

I have no idea if it makes a difference butI use,

"/setpref combatspelleffects false" to turn them off

and
"/setpref combatspelleffects true" to turn them back on

I've never seen anybody use = off or = true
