Default beyond level 100

Soon, AROP will be here, and the dev's will be able to start working towards raising the ADV cap.

Nothing has been said about possible new skills or abilities. So, I would like to get some feedback on what YOU would like to see.

Here are a few that I have been thinking of. Perhaps they are totally without merit, but to me, would sure make playing my class more fun.

Scouts: should be the fastest moving biped, with unequaled longshot and vision
Sense enimies II - 300 meter sense enimies ( lvl 102 )
Fleet of foot II - +20 base speed ( lvl 104 )
Sprint II - an unbreakable sprint ( stuns/mezzes/avalance can't affect this sprint lvl 106)
Extended longshot I - 120 meter long shot. ( lvl 108 )
Cloak of shadows - 2 minute cloak of invisibility, on a 10 minute timer. ( lvl 110 )

Saris:
Saris Leap: allows saris only to jump upwards 3 times their height and 20 meters forward. Allows them to leap to the roof of most buildings or across gaps. more of a defensive ability.
Night vision: turns night to day for saris alone
Second wind: an extended sprint lasting 2 min.

What would YOU like to see?

As a new dawn rises over Istaria, may we all band together to meet the challenges!

Continuing Development of Horizons... SWEET!

After the review of the Adventure schools and any adjustments to multiclassing (1-100 and 101 to 120) . . . . don't know.

Two things though.

A. Hopefully TulgAE codes any of these abilities into the monsters (as in monsters gathering as a Scout senses characters, getting longshotted by enemy Scouts, and their AI allowing them to sprint away from combat).

B. This will soon (or should) be moved to the Adventure School forum as racial abilites are a separate feature than schools.

1. Fix what is broken. -- 2. Finish what is incomplete. -- 3. Add to complement lore.

I am hoping that as soon as the ARoP is done that the next thing they do is the Character and World Model.

Get those done then the rest should come alot easer.......dungeons, porting, etc
16 100 crafting classes....getting closer

Before they fired half their dev team way back when (May 2004I think) a dev stated that if they dropped everything it would still take them 6 months to complete a world model. I don't know how accurate that was, or if they have done any work on a WM since then, but if it would mean no updates or bug fixes for 6 months then I think it should be done over a much longer period of time.

As to the World Model, it was my understanding that the lack of a World Model was one of the things holding up Dragon Lairs. So maybe when the Lairs go live, that's when the World Model will too?

As to beyond level 100 advancement. I've heard some suggestions of an alternative advancement system similar to EQ. Personally, I've never played EQ and don't know exactly how that works, but it might be appropriate to Dragons.

Dragons spend all their lives being generalists where bi-peds have the opportunity to choose classes like mage, healer, fighter, scout, etc. Dragons were changed and designed to be both a race and a class. I had hoped to see more differentiation in dragons once the Adult Rite of Passage was complete, but there still were very little differences between Lunus and Helians. With the Ancient, I think Dragons should be able to choose a path of specialization, if not a class specifically.

It still seems inappropriate that Dragons have so many things they cannot do, that a bi-ped can accomplish by multi-classing. Theoretically a bi-ped can be completely self sufficient with the use of multi-classing in adventuring and also in crafting.

So, I guess I'd like to see Dragon players be able to be able to be more unique by giving them choices in lines of specialization, perhaps Dragon Prestige classes you can only join after becoming Ancient.

What scares me the most, is hitting the level cap with my Dragon and having no new goals to achieve, where a bi-ped can choose a new class and progress in that.

I'm currently enjoying Shaman, so I'll post some thoughts about what I believe they lack.

--Shaman

Needs an aura of some sort, maybe something that would use the school's indepth knowledge of blight to conteract general Aegis (blight) attacks, debuffs, and DoT's directed at party members. Here's an example.

Ability Name: Blight's Antipode
Level Acquired: 112 (or whatever)
Effect: All members of the casters party receive an enhancement that does the following:
+100 Blight Resistance
+100 Blight Ward
25% chance to remove one negative effect cast upon a party member every 10 seconds. (Balance that however one would see fit)

Fighting WA can be a serious battle, and having a party member with knowledge of Aegis magic would logically help defend you in battle against undead. Aegis mobs also have an array of debuffs to throw at you, as well as other enemies. This would be a logical continuation of Group Detoxify, moving from a manual removal to a "set it and forget it" aura.

Trying to think up something for Pally's too, but right now the school feels very solid and "complete" in reguards to abilities. They just need something really damned cool.

Input?
"We live only ONE REAL DAY, during which we recall false memories of living many more."
Is it today?
"No."

For bloodmages I would like them re-looked at.

A blood mage comming from spiritist looses 2 pts of blight gain per level, 1 point of magic defense per level and gains 1 pt in 2 handed.

Not sure why the blood mage "specialist" seems to be less specialized then the spiritist.

The abilities are pretty close to being even, with a bit more syphon and a bit less area syphon. With the Spiritist gaining on syphoning later on (with syphon X and area syphon V).

So over level 100, I would like to see the Blood Mage vary more from the spiritist, in stats and abilities.

I would like to see mage/battlemage and the like get some sort mind school ability, mezz, slow etc, with a range greater than 30 meters. The critters have it, why not us.

Speaking of the critters, after ARoP, level cap raise etc, can the various assorted and sundry critters of Istaria get a trip to Oz for some bloody BRAINS!!! Collectively, every varmint in the world would make a box of rocks look smart :/

I strongly hope the level gains past 100 are through quests... It didnt take long at all to add Laughing Otters quest, so I would hope something in the form of quests is here for 100+...

And these quests could yeild rewards to build epic like abilities... Kinda like SB or DC... but not spells... Real abilities...

Or ability boosters... A consumable item that makes the ability it is applied to permenantly better (the consumable will target an area of an ability like recycle, delay, damage minimum, damage maximum, range, accuracy, those kinds of areas).

I think that would be nice. :)

Also before the level cap comes in I would hope they add the quests for all the other classes... Yes thats a TON of quests, but I think everyone needs class/race/craft class specific quests that they are missing.

Dragons need to be fleshed out in quests? Yes they do, but so do bipeds...

Ill say this again... The game is goin ina great direction, but there just isn't enough expansion and refinement going on... In order for this title to really succeed and get the 20k+ mark for accounts to make it come back, it will need alot more expansion and refinement than it currently has...

I dont mean this in a negative way either... The things arent just happening at the pace they need to in order to make the quarter a good one.

Yes, yes yes.
I wouldn't say level's have to be quested, but I would like abilities to be.
So to get the new 101 ability, a quest.

And these quests could yeild rewards to build epic like abilities... Kinda like SB or DC... but not spells... Real abilities...
Yes.
Epic level abilities for Epic Level people

Or ability boosters... A consumable item that makes the ability it is applied to permenantly better (the consumable will target an area of an ability like recycle, delay, damage minimum, damage maximum, range, accuracy, those kinds of areas).
Fear would be giving these items to a toon and haveing an uber toon.
Then again, they could be like Blood Doll and not removeable.

I would like to see your suggestions though.
Do something like the Wish Giver for everyone >100.

+10 range for X spells (only pickable once, do you want your spirit/primal/nature/mind spells to go farther?)

+10 damage for X spells (as above)

Give epic quests, that can be done once per toon, and you pick the reward. +range, + damage, + recycle speed, + Health/str/power/focus. + 1hs/2hs/2hc
So when you go > 100 you pick the abilities you want. More focusing. They are instantly mastered and passive. But focused enough that they will work within the subset.

I think that would be nice.
Oh yeah!

Also before the level cap comes in I would hope they add the quests for all the other classes... Yes thats a TON of quests, but I think everyone needs class/race/craft class specific quests that they are missing.
Would be nice.
Would also be nice to add the class specific quests that are not masterable (as above). Don't remove the abilties we have now. Add good abilities that define the classes, and make you want to be a class.

So add to ranger to make people want to be a ranger.
Add to mage/sorcerer/conjurere so people want to be them (not just for multi and perfect)

And make the new abilities non-masterable.

Dragons need to be fleshed out in quests? Yes they do, but so do bipeds...
Blood Mage has 0 quests. So again, I agree.
