Most people's sigs tell you which server they play on, their character name(s) and often their guild names. Easiest thing to do is make a note of that information and do a /who once you're in-game. You could also go in to General or Marketplace & ask if they are on or if anyone knows them, or if someone from their guild would pass a message for you.
