The Patcher Part Deux

Please look at my previous post for some steps to take for these errors. As this is a new patcher we're working to assist everyone in getting these problems resolved. Thank you for your patience.

Well I require some assistance in getting Horizons to work.

I do have Net 1.1 installed
I am the administrator of computer
I have Horizons on trusted site

Now when I start the game I get a statement that my computer will not allow the unsafe Active X to run...I press ok then it brings up I need to make sure that I have Net 1.1, Im an Administrator, and that I trust Tugla.

Any help would be appreciated

I found that my firewall, while allowing IE full access to download/upload... was still blocking something with the process.

Just an FYI.

edit: still getting the page error, even after what appeard to be a flawless install

well, I tried running that batch file and it did nothing to help.

Add me to the list of people who now cannot get in-game.

Yes, have all necessary updates installed. Yes, have all necessary permissions properly set. All I get is a total browser freeze-up when I click on my character name to log in now...

I minimized the login window then ran the batch file that was in the horizons/launcher folder, it did its thing, took bout 10 seconds. Closed IE, reopened it. Patcher worked fine after that. (have to agree it does look great)

I had the same issue as Laurus-Fel. Your suggestion worked and I am ig.

And thanks a ton for that... just gave up on EQ2 zone porting (AAAAHHHHGGG!!)... make premerge Tazoon feel like a well lubricated machine I tell ya.

This might be why.

There was an update to .net. It now has two directories in C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\framework.

v1.03705 and v1.1.4322

The folder for v1.1 (Updated) has tons of files including the caspol.exe 1.03 has only 4 files, 1 dll's and 3 config files.

Well, I tried every suggestion u guys throw here and still cant log in and now theres a new pop up window : "Horizondoes not appear to be installed on your computer"
HUH?

I check in the launcher folder and caspol.bat is not there anymore. :(

and I too had already updated to Net 1.1

So was I, I had to reinstall it following the instructions on the website. After that if gave me the "Error on Page" when i pushed the login button. After this I was able to run the batch file in the launcher folder and it worked properly. Restart IE and the launcher launches.

Worked for me, I had no problem. I even tried doing a multithreaded full scan. It didn't appear to be any faster than the old patcher though:(.

Also, the graphical interface is messed up in the full scan. The %complete bars are always at 100%.

EDIT: Frankly I don't like Active X, and I don't like having to enter IE to log in. Could you please give us an approximate ETA for the new standalone patcher.

Actually, the activeX control is only used to update the new patcher itself... i.e. patch the patcher. After you log in the first time, you'll be sans-activeX unless there is a new version of the patcher to retrieve.
