wow, I don't think I've seen anything prior to whatever version was running at the E3 '02 tech demo. I still don't think I've seen the spell ingame that inspired this cheesy graphic. (me trying to convey part of what I'd seen at that tech demo, laugh if you want, I never claimed to have any artistic talent.)

Rocks from the sky? Evolved into Stone Fist, still one of the really great spell animations?

Y'know, I really prefer the window borders to what we have now.

No, not from the sky. the rocks spring up from the ground, knocking back enemies and protecting you for a short time from attackers. I believe the spell then was called "rock wall"

If you go into "options" and "misc" you can set your highlighter so that when you have someone selected you will have a beam of light surrounding them (I have this setting:). Works well imo). The default selector thingie is the green/pink/red box around the object.

I think in that graphic the zombie is the selected item, and the beam from the sky is the same as the ingame graphic currently used. Except WAY cheesier:).
