How do you dye things?

I saw brown dye at the pawn broker once and I'm wondering:

1) Can you make dye or do you have to buy it?

2) Do you have to dye something in the process of making it or can you dye it later?

3) If you can make dye, how?

1) Alchemists make dye. They use ground up gems and metals to make it. If you aren't/don't want to be an Alchemist then buying it from one is always an option or looking on Consigners for dye.

2) Yes, dye must be placed during the creation process. In fact in order for the dye to accept on a piece of armor the dye much be the first technique you choose to place on the item. Dye teching does NOT count against the amount of techs allowable on a garment.

3) See 1. lol You of course need the various formulae to create the components to make the dye and for the dye themselves.
