Growing them would be fine, actually harvesting them wouldn't seem to be very time effective

That little picture is based, as far as I have observed, on your gender selection in the control panel. A pretty dryad girl for females, and those ugly elven buggers (I almost took them for goblins first[:O]) for males. If not specified ( I haven't) there is no image.
