second awakening
The stillness of the icy hills was suddenly disturbed as shards of ice violently exploded out of the face of the mountain. As the particles began to settle he became visible, a cold blue hue against the shearwhite snow. Moving slowly from the long slumber he immerged completely from his self imposed encasement under snow and ice.
For a moment he paused and surveyed the horizon, looking for signs of past memories though already knowing that most had already faded into a sleep of their own. He stretched out one wing stiffly, inspecting it for damage and finding none quickly moved to the other. Satisfied, hecrouched low stretchingand rolling back arching his lower back, working out the last remnants of his hibernation. Then in an instant he sprang into the air, massive wings spread taking flight.Looking forward to the horizon, he scanned for signs of life and his future.
