How long does weekly maintenance usually take?

Sorry, I am still new to the game and was just wondering approximately how long weekly maintenance usually takes. I have seen it asked in many threads, but not answered.

I realise it would vary each week depending on patches etc - but just a "guesstimate" would be helpful as I am in Australia which means for me, server goes down at 10pm, and just wondering if it worth staying up for or whether it will be 4 hours...dont think I can manage staying up till 2am without game lol

well from what i have noticed it seems 4hours is a short maint. I hope this helps. my advice get some sleep :P

Normal maintenance typically lasts three to four hours. Last week it took just a bit over three hours, but I've seen it take as long as four and a half.

Of course, patches take quite a bit longer, sometimes all day, but I wouldn't expect another patch for a while yet as the last Blight patch was and is terribly fubarred.

The quoted post is not accurate, Executive GM Zack Horne has been doing server maintenance and performing server admin functions on a recurring basis for the last three weeks.

Regarding the original question, "how much dowm time is required for maintenance?" Typically, maintenance will run between 3.5 and 4 hours, however there are a number of factors than can affect that timing, including World Server restart issues and content adds. In the event we expect a longer than normal maintenance period, we will try to let players know in advance.

And "server admin" I originally took to mean the tools.

If it means the person, then unless the servers moved, it is the same server admin, isn't it? That is why I'm ASKING the question. I am ASKING (not flaming) if this means that the servers have been successfully moved from where they used to be at Tulga's previous service hosting site to wherever EII is keeping them. If so, I congratulate EII on making a smooth transition because I've seen no one complain about excessive downtime for a move.

Perhaps before you go pointing fingers about "flaming" you might want to look in the mirror, Inred.

Well they not putting content, just doing the maintenance .. it's garantee it be faster, untill they had content.

I'm comparing how long servers were typically down
over the past couple months for routine maintenance,
to how long they've been down since EI started doing
it. And the downtime - has - decreased. I'm simply
stating a fact. Not sure why some are jumping down
others' throats about this.

Has there been any mention of the servers being moved? I don't recall seeing any posts or announcements on that matter.
