A couple simple sketches I did a couple years ago. Below is a winged Khutit that could probably use some more value. Oh well. :P

    /applause

especially on the khutit's digitigrade legs.
I never manage to get such legs right and tend to end up hiding them behind clothes, a cool pose or whatever is handy and easy for me :P

Digitgrade legs are fun, and they usually even follow RL anatomical principles. For instance, the ball of the paw, where most of the weight is centered, is usually positioned directly below the knee (if the character were standing up straight), just as it is on plantigrade legs.

There's a few more dragon drawings on a mini gallery here.

Some of my submissions are pieces of Digipen homework, which are weird. Some were just fast doodles.

I like how you pose all the dragon's, it feels very alive.
My own stuff tends to turn out very wooden.

Not sure if this counts as art but:Tehanu's Flight
It's a papercraft dragon I am making. The sitting version is done, with a very lovely flying version to come.

Wow that is so cool - yea I wish I was so craft inclined - I'd love to make one of those.

The best I've done is paint those "unpainted" statue things - like one a year maybe (rofl).

That seems way to complicated for me, but at the same time I'm like "man if I coudl do it that would be soooo coolio"

Course I find it beyond amusing that the picture there has a bottle of Advil behind it?? Is that a suggestion? ROFL

Vidken, I really love your "Babysitting" and "Learning to fly" drawings. those are great!

showing emotion with the dragons' facial expressions is somewhat unexpected, and it made me laugh. not in a demeaning way, mind you, butin a joyful way.

    thanks for making me smile!

Great work Vidken! I really like the glider one myself, but as a gliding nut I'm of course biased .

I might have to try that trick drawing lines of your hand without looking at the page.

    Thanks for posting the links!

Thanks! I'm a gliding nut too. I just haven't been up since the mid-nineties.

When I think of dragons, the first thing that comes to mind is flight and the disciplines one would go through to become adept in the air. They'd figure out thermals, ridge lift and wave lift out so they can go higher and further with less endurance drain. I'd imagine the elite fliers are capable of spending months in the air without touching the ground, catnapping and preying on avian food sources. In a universe like this, they'd usually be more wyverns and lightweight spellcasters than the brawny types.

Those are cool Callak! What do you use to make them?

I don't want to get spammy- I've got more dragon art than anything at this point, so I'll just post two at the time.
Did this one earlier this year for Mirsathia and Ark (they both used to play here).

This is just a little ink and marker doodle.
