lovely, one less person who can make primal vengeance scales.
I dont blame him for leaving, just sating hte fact this is starting to suck.
He just came back too.
Was this really the best idea?
Ignem Infernum - Abi in malum rem.
Ixatchitxl the Defiler - Fafnir who? I was here first!
Think! Its not illegal...yet.
Adventuring: aka Genocide, Graverobbing, and Temple Desecration.
I think, it`s no good idea to leave the game because of improvments,
which are not even fully developed or completed.
As the intention is a good one, and VI is working hard on further development of the game, they deserve that we give it a try.
Did not VI say it will be the year of the dragons?
I can wait- looking forward.
I respect Sparkin`s decision.
(And yes, it`s starting to suck.)
(And many Unitarians, who hopefully will return, are able to make venegance scales)
there are at least 2 threads, where we discuss that,
you might want to read about:
" bring back old dp- sytem" and "angry warrior" e.g.
Hurray! Morrison is back at his house near Bristugo!
And the wisps on wisp isle are moving again!
If you can't see 'em, you know you've got proper invisible runes.
Fafnir does not need to be fixed- that (he) is the challenge
With experienced mates and a gifted healer (I know one ),
it`s much fun to hunt him- worth 2 or less dp`s
Face forward and you should be able to hear it now the only thing plugging your ears is your own fear. There is only one enemy and one of you so what is there to be afraid of ? Abandon your fear turn and face him, Don't give an inch. Now advance Never stop If you retreat you will age Be afraid and you'll die NOW SHOUT OUT YOUR NAME !!!
Re: Fafnir
Quint's and sprint are your friends, use them.
If you can't see the glow, due to display issues, you probably shouldn't be doing Fafnir unless you accept, in advance, the potential of many death points.
A healer has only 1 super rez and there has to be enough healers to support the number of damagers in the party.
Fafnir is not a mob that a group can just "slug it out with".
If you try, Fafnir will lope happily away from the fight.
If you are experiencing horrible lag, log out and come back in. You do a disservice to the rest of your group if your attacks/abilities are delayed.
Yes, the DP penalty can really suck if you get a lot of DPs.
The trick is to not get killed and accumulate DPs.
Fight smarter, not harder.
Monday:
Started as Healer 62, rating 147.
I could solo 3 to 4 Elite Blighted Blights. More than that and I was toast. I picked up 4 death points.
Tuesday:
Started as Healer 64, rating 149.
Today I'm soloing 12+ Elite Blighted Blights and racking up some serious experience. The only reason that I finally died after passing level 70 was due to video lag.
If it wasn't for the new length of a death point, I may have kept running back into battle and getting slaughtered. Instead, I altered my fighting and now I'm rocking some Elites.
If I picked up 28 points fighting Fafnir, I'd definately have to reconsider what I'm doing and change my tactics.
Everyone I have talked to so far since the release doesn't see it as a big deal. Yeah, it can get annoying seeing such a long wait, but it's not as bad as it's being made out to be. Death point accumulation has never prevented anyone from hunting, and it certainly doesn't now. ((Note: I said Death Points, not Death Penalty))
If you don't care about death points, then it shouldn't be a problem at all. You're forced to take a look at your hunting style and tactics, and perhaps just be more cautious, that's all. There's more thought and consideration for your surroundings, not as much 'kamikaze' style tactics. You're just more aware of the ratings of the things around you, the loading lag for your area, the spawn rates and areas of the spawns, and also the safe spots. Also, it's a good idea to become aware of your capabilities and to perfect your retreat.
